About the |
From Five Good Minutes in the Evening When you arrive at home, in that moment when you first see your loved one (or loved ones), deliberately stop the rushing and momentum of your day and bring your attention to the present moment, and to those who are in front of you. Pay attention kindly and on purpose, making good eye contact with each of your loved ones. Breathing mindfully, allow each breath you take to bring you calm and ease, and to deepen your connection with what is happening now, in this moment. Allow yourself to really see and acknowledge your loved ones. It may help to speak quietly to yourself, saying something like “This is my partner (or family), who loves and supports me” or “We are together again, and I know it won’t always be this way.” Say hello with all of your heart. Speak to each one from your heart. Embrace each one with all of your heart. Allow your heart to open to the preciousness of this moment. |
